I DID IT!!!

I feel so, liberated...in a way. I knitted interesting shapy things and left them in public places with notes. The first one only had one note..saying something like, you're wonderful. (i cant remember what i put with what) and the second one had three notes. Both had notes that said: you're beautiful, you're wonderful, you're loved, know all is well.

Oh Harry.....

Well, I probably should be saying oh Albus.

I am a big Harry Potter fan and on this knitting/crocheting network I'm apart of a Harry Potter group. One of the posts had the following Harry Potter test (one that would determine who would be your husband).

I gave it a try and this is my result:

Your result for The Harry Potter Husband Test...

Mrs. Dumbledore

Your perfect HP man is Albus Dumbledore.

You like 'em powerful and brilliant. And why not? A guy like this, you can have intelligent conversation with, laugh with, and you know he can protect you. Sure, he may have a weakness for power, but he's got that under control. And sure, he let his sister die, but he learned from that. And sure, he harbors a secret, forbidden love for a man widely known to be his mortal enemy, but...well, no, that's actually a pretty big obstacle. Good luck with that.

All I can say is enjoy!

Do You Hear What I Hear???

Personally, there is something satisfying of multi-tasking. I am finding myself, more and more lately, listening to books on tape. Esp. those romantic adventures usually aimed at the female gender.

Nothing wrong with that. They're an easy "read", a fairly predictable plot that I find myself enjoying the details of how character A finally ends up with character B, and are more often than not are a good pick-me-up (well at least all the ones I've read or listened to all the way through).

I really do enjoy knitting and listening to books on tape. It's some how satisfies some weird itch somewhere. (Maybe it's b/c I am feeling somewhat productive if I knit as I listen??? - as apposed to cleaning my room while listening).

Meh, it's enjoyable and it doesnt require too much brain power to get back on track with the story line if I space out.

Hope y'all have having a lovely Friday!

Knitting Contests!

Oh! How inspiring!

An avid knitter, I whole heartily support contests involving my fav. hobby, knitting!!!!

I'm going to mention a knitting contest that, I feel, supports a good cause.

On Scout's Swag, it's having a contest that supports the Red Scarf Project. The project sends wonderful handmade knitted scarves as a Valentine’s Day Care Package to an Orphan Foundation of America student enrolled in college or trade school. Its a way to show support or care (even from a stranger) to someone who has had adversity growing up. I like to think of it as a small gesture that makes your day (like someone holding the door for you, or that random smile from that cutie across the street), but in a more permanent way.

All the knitty gritty details are about 1/3 to 1/2 way down the page. But I would like to mention it should be a unisex scarf! (Think if a brother, father, uncle, grandfather, male friend would enjoy receiving this scarf).

Send your scarves to:
Orphan Foundation of America
The Red Scarf Project
21351 Gentry Drive
Sterling, VA 20166

Ohh! They're only receiving the scarves between September 1st and October 31st.

Happy Knitting! (or crocheting if that's your thing)
